1. Introduction

LP Wave operates MyRate, a travel currency converter and expense tracker app. This Privacy Policy explains what data the app stores, how, and why.

2. What Data the App Stores

Data you enter — stored locally on your device:

• Exchange rates: Saved currency pairs and their values, with an optional note (e.g. "Bangkok Airport")
• Expense entries: Amount, currency code, date, category, optional note
• Trips: Trip name, destination, dates, planned budget
• Settings: Home currency, app language, display preferences

Data collected optionally — only with your explicit permission:

• GPS location: Only if enabled in settings, and only at the moment an expense is saved. The app does not track your location continuously.
• Photos: You may optionally attach a photo to an expense. Photos stay on your device.

3. What the App Does NOT Do

• Does not collect analytics data (no Firebase, Crashlytics, or similar SDKs)
• Does not display ads or share data with advertising networks
• Does not track your behavior or usage patterns
• Does not send any personal data to a server
• Does not require an account

4. Internet Connection — When and Why

The app connects to the internet exclusively to fetch currency exchange rates. In these requests, only currency codes are sent (e.g. EUR, HUF) — nothing else.

The app uses three public, free rate providers in sequence (if one is unavailable, the next is tried):

• FreeCurrencyAPI (freecurrencyapi.com)
• Frankfurter (frankfurter.app)
• Open Exchange Rates (open.er-api.com)

Fetched rates are cached locally for 24 hours to avoid unnecessary requests.

5. Pro Version Purchase

The Pro version is purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play. The payment process and purchase data are handled entirely by Apple or Google — their own privacy policies apply. The app only stores a single local flag indicating whether the purchase was completed.

6. Home Screen Widget

To display the widget, the app syncs active exchange rates and the last conversion result to the device's widget system (iOS: App Group, Android: SharedPreferences). This data does not leave your device.

7. Your Rights

Since all data is stored exclusively on your device, you have full control:

• View: All data is visible within the app
• Export: The expense log can be exported as CSV
• Edit: Any entry can be edited in the app
• Delete: Individual entries, the entire log, or all data can be deleted; GPS and photo permissions can be revoked in your device settings
• Full deletion: Uninstalling the app removes all local data

8. Children's Privacy

MyRate is not directed at children under 16 and does not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

If the app's data practices change, this policy will be updated and the effective date at the top will reflect the new version.
